Development and characterization of 177 SNP markers in the mud shrimp Upogebia major

The mud shrimp Upogebia major (Crustacea, Decapoda, Gebiidea) (De Haan, 1841) is an ecological keystone species widely distributed in waters. It has contributed significantly to the maintenance of coastal benthic biodiversity as ecosystem engineer. However, there still a lack effective molecular markers effectively protect and manage this species. In study, we used DNeasy Blood & Tissue kit extract DNA Illumina HiSeq 4000 sequencing technology obtain SNP marker resources. A total 177 single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) were developed characterized U. major. minor allele frequency ranged from 0.0500 0.5000. observed heterozygosity expected 0.0333 0.9000 0.0966 0.5085, respectively. polymorphic information content 0.0905 0.3750. inbreeding coefficient values varied − 0.2902 0.5968. Seventeen loci showed significant deviations Hardy–Weinberg equilibrium (P < 0.05). These will be helpful for analysis population genetic structure conservation
